Tannery Downtown in Greeneville

Would give 5 for rating only the food, but the lady taking your order and money is extremely rude and talks loudly about how annoying it is that people are coming in the door 40 minutes before they are supposed to be closing. Always seems like we are a bother and makes my wife never want come eat.

Love their sandwiches. The Super Sub is my favorite. Great place to go for lunch.

This place is nothing like I thought it would be when we moved here. But that's a good thing. It's a family place and the prices aren't bad. It takes a little longer for them to make the food, but it's worth the wait. Best hot ham and cheese in town!

A wonderful place to eat, I must stop if you're in the area. Very friendly people and customer service. Great food everything made fresh.

This was my first visit and I'm glad I tried this cafe. I chose the special. It came with a sandwich, salad and soup. I selected the chili instead of the soup which is available on Wednesdays. The portions were just right and the sandwich was very flavorful. I left satisfied and am already planning my return. If you haven't yet, give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.

Been going here for years and years, though we rarely have a reason to be downtown...but this place is worth the trip. California Dream is just as good as the name!

Small, simple, no frills local sandwich shop. Employees aren't overly friendly, and you're on your own to figure out which way the line goes or how to order. But I have come to learn that is how local shops operate in small towns. No time or patience for the newcomer. Anyway, I had the awesome chicken salad sandwich. It comes with mayo, which is too much mayo, if I may say so in the south. I love mayo very much and can't get too much on a "mater sammich," but mayo on a chicken salad sandwich is a bit much. I digress. The chicken salad had nice flavor, nothing fancy or awesome. The sandwich was lovely with the sprouts. I love sprouts on a sandwich. The melted cheese was also a nice touch. All in all, I enjoyed the sandwich. I went back a few days later for another sandwich, but went with something that had ham, roast beef, cheese, and sprouts on sourdough. It was delicious as well.

The food is delicious, extremely blessed with business.... But not personable... I understand that large orders are stressful, but it's disheartening when the cashier is so frustrated with me for paying separately that she verbally and loudly let's out a big UGH!! I am all for supporting local business, but it would mean so much more if the business was appreciated. I don't love it enough to feel so incredibly uncomfortable going in.

One of the first places I ate at when visiting Greeneville. They make a great lunch. You need to try it out.

The food was really mediocre. I've made better at home. Service and atmosphere was alright.Overall wasn't terrible but I wouldn't go back myself.

A very long wait for lunch

Love this place, classic american sandwich shop, friendly and helpful staff.

Note: Order & pay at the counter then find a seat; they'll bring it to you once it's up.Quaint place to pop in & grab hot soup & ½ a sandwich. The food was very good & the quantity was just right. The only complaint that I have would be that I wished their hours were longer but beyond that it was good & if I can ever make it during their open time frame, I'll be back again.

Every town and small city has a place like The Tannery, and thank goodness for that. When the locals flock to a place, others should follow... Donna has been making these tasty deli-style sandwiches for a good long while now, and they're as tasty now as the day the place opened its doors. Long a favorite of locals prowling around the downtown area, it is a place that you should try if you're in the area; you won't regret it!

My favorite place to eat in Greeneville, no doubt. You won't find a more friendly staff. Donna, the owner, attends to every detail. I get the California Dream sandwich, delicious and hearty, perfect for a quick lunch.

This is a wonderful deli shop. One of the best Reubens I have had.

The food was fine, but staff were unfriendly. It seemed like I was a bother to them more than a customer. I ordered a bowl of soup and received what any restaurant would call a cup of soup. A soda and my cup/bowl of soup was 6.50, and overpriced. Disappointed!

Great family operated place

Nice friendly but the food is not worth what they charge for it. Very over priced, nats flying around while eating. Food is not covered up, I would not recommend this place to dine at.

Just ate here for the first time in a long time, and would absolutely come back. The food is amazing!

Save your time and money and go down the street to Tiptons. It's half the price there and twice the taste. Paid almost ten bucks for one refill drink and an almost burnt grilled cheese. Rather disappointed.
